Leadership Development Workshop – April 29

Leadership Development Workshop With Grace Killelea
9am – 12pm, April 29

It’s never been more important for women retail leaders to make a positive and proactive impact within their teams and organizations. But we all need some help to make those changes happen!

That’s why the Women in Retail Leadership Circle is excited that Grace Killelea, founder and CEO of leadership development firm GKC Group, will be presenting a three-hour workshop at the Summit this year. The workshop will be focused on leadership development; team building; culture management; and more!

Grace’s workshop is based on the Birkman Method, a powerful and proven business process for measuring internal needs, motivations, occupational preferences, and strengths to facilitate less stress and achieve higher personal performance and achievement in every individual, team, and organization. Outcomes of the  Birkman Method include the following:

  • – an understanding of  your own personality strengths and areas for improvement;
  • – insight into  your “executive presence” and confidence;
  • – an understanding around productive and stress behaviors and their impact on your communication, confidence and commitment;
  • – finding your individual power, influence and “voice” and improving presentation skills;
  • – leveraging your emotional intelligence and insights to intentionally influence; and
  • – understanding how to manage through change

We’re thrilled to have Grace join us at the Summit this year!

We know you will inspired by her!  We encourage you to attend this workshop for an extra fee of $550 extend your stay for a Sunday night arrival. We will be beginning bright and early on Monday.

    Lessons Learned on My Journey From Secretary to the C-Suite

    It’s not every day you hear about a chief executive who started her career as a secretary (yes secretary, not administrative assistant!) But Jan Singer is one such executive. Starting out in a secretarial job at a real estate company in New York City, Jan spent the next 30 years moving all the way up the corporate ladder to her most recent position as the CEO for Victoria’s Secret Lingerie at L Brands. Along the way Jan served as an independent director on the Kate Spade board as well as various operating roles such as CEO of Spanx, corporate vice president of global footwear and global apparel for Nike, and various leadership roles in the luxury beauty business. In this engaging presentation, Jan will discuss her career path and share 10 leadership lessons she’s learned along the way. Lunch & Closing Keynote: Plan G (G is For Grit)

    All of us come face to face with challenges and events that are beyond our control. How we respond to these situations can be the difference between surviving and thriving. In our closing keynote, leadership expert, best-selling author and executive coach Grace Killelea will cut through the rhetoric by discussing Plan G, which is all about the intersection of confidence and resilience.

    It’s the ability to adapt during challenging times and move beyond surviving to thriving. Plan G is about how we can handle unexpected curve balls in our lives and our careers to move from drama to determined and from frenzied to focused. It will help us understand that we each have an opportunity to move from resistance to resilience; to thrive after challenges; and that learning how using failure as an opportunity to “spring forward” with strength and purpose is at the core of success. In this session, attendees will learn the following:

    • How to get back up when you’ve been kicked to the curb. Learn how to stop running, drop your fear and roll with the punches.
    • How to stop the inner critic from being the GPS of your life.
    • Learn the difference between endurance and recovery. Resilience is a decision we have to make and remake.
    • Develop tools and strategies to move you from merely surviving to thriving
    • How to manage your intention and recognize your impact

    Using her Four R’s of leadership: relationships, reputation, results and resilience, Grace will share how to understand stress behaviors and what the triggers are, how to triage and to come back, how to break through and claim success – whether it’s your own life or career situation
